How do you use LinkedIn?

So I was kinda curious about trying to get some attention from linkedin for my startup and I have no idea how to use this thing.
It looks so ugly, text everywhere, pupups, sliders, jeez.

Besides posting hashtags and stuff how do you guys use linkedin to get leads?
Thanks.

You can join Linkedin groups and post your content/services there. If you contact people, write something personalized in the contact request message. I get 5-7 scam requests daily, has increased in the last 2-3 weeks, so you need to stand out. Don´t waste anybodys time there, just get in touch with people that you are certain could need your services. I really like it, but not necessarily for leads. It´s good to find fellow entrepreneurs and possible business partners there.

Me too, mostly forex and blockchain. For those who really want it to be a legit biz tool in their kit, this is super disappointing.

Yes, it ruins the reputation of those who are legit. Usually the scammer ask for BTC mining. I´m used to that kind of approach in Instagram but never thought they would be so active on Linkedin. Maybe I´ll reply to one, just to figure out how their scam actually work.

I've used Linkedin to build an mailing list of 2,000 readers for my substack newsletter in 2 months. I target people in think tanks thru search and then send out just under 100 (the suggested upper limit) of connection requests with a link to my newsletter sign up page. It's that easy.

For my use case, there is nothing like it, LinkedIn is my growth engine.

If you have a company page, use your personal profile to make targeted connections. You can than invite your connections to follow your company page. Up until a few months ago you could invite 25 per day now it is 100 per month.

I don't use Linkedin Groups since admins only recommend their posts to the audience so you literally have no chance there.

I post our blog posts on our company account then repost it on my personal account.

I also private message and try to do favors to SaaS founders as a way to connect and form partnerships for tractific.com

LinkedIn is awesome for B2B because you can engage with decision-makers in a genuine conversation and ask for casual feedback. While i was full-time freelance i was creating video content and posting in on there along with some useful PDFs, infographics and stuff and it worked okay.

Now since my startup is b2c i am not sure how to engage LinkedIn properly and i am thinking about it actively.

On there basically, it's all about content, creating and sharing useful stuff, commenting, and talking to people in the DMs.

I know this is kind of verboten but with ~3000 followers, all with serious intentions for their career development, I've posted specials running on my company services. Particularly targeted courses to DIY one's LI Profile, resume or interview skills. I can't say it's been a home run but a few leads come in a month. I keep the courses site running since the material is still relevant but we are transitioning to creating a new platform to service B2B.

A bit self-serving but I believe LI is missing a huge opportunity for more bespoke, targeted marketing by those who will take the time to understand potential clients' needs.

Look forward to other responses here for any bits of wisdom.
