How does the point system work?

I was wondering how the game points system works. I assume its to do with post, comments and upvotes? Am I correct

    Yeah you're pretty close. As far as I know, you get points from:

    • Upvotes on your posts
    • Upvotes on your comments
    • Replies to your post

      what about leaving comments?

        Not sure. I know you get points if someone upvotes it. But just writing new comments I don’t think you will get any points.

        Nope, followers doesn't play a part in the point system. Also keep in mind that when you go above 1000 points, it will look like "1k". I have 1344 points right now so that displays like this: 1.3k points

          Imagine if you could redeem them somehow

            I love bounty systems. It makes is super clear what help is desired and how important it is for the requester. As a newbie, it. means I can head straight to that queue, and see where I can contribute. The greatest bounty /oldest request with decent bounty, will likely be for the tough stuff to contribute on, really make a difference too.
