How far can I get with Webflow for my idea?

I've started working on a small-scale idea I've had for a while. It's a website where users pay a fixed fee to create a online card + gift box for their friend or colleague. Then they can share that to others to add their own messages and photos + money contributions.

At the end they send it to the recepient and he/she gets to choose how to use the money - either as a gift card or donate to charity.

I'm technical but don't really have much frontend skills and have started doing this in Webflow but I've started wondering if that's the best choice for something like this. Looking at their CMS plans, they seem to cap out at a fairly small number of CMS items and I'm not sure whether I'll be able to use my own backend for it?

Considering that what I'm trying to do isn't that complicated (at the MVP stage at least) should I just drop no-code solutions and look at a web framework instead? Can people who have used webflow or something similar give me pros and cons?

I’m a huge Webflow fan, but I think it’s probably too limited for what you’re trying to do. I’d suggest taking a look at either https://www.boundlesslabs.com/ or https://bubble.io/.

I’d also recommend checking out the tutorials at https://www.makerpad.co/ to learn more about building with no code and the various tools available.

    Good luck!

Not sure if you've come up with a solution yet or not @ValCanBuild but you can get really far with Webflow and a little creativity. Checkout a screencast I just finished walking through how to setup a fairly good MVP with Webflow, MemberStack, and Zapier here: https://nocodequest.com/personalization-with-unique-member-dashboards/

    Hello there!

Is this online card and gift box physical or digital? you can check out my new site whatwillyoubuild.co to validate what's possible in Webflow if you'd like. Good luck with your project.

It's fully digital. Thanks for the link! I'll check it out
