We have been building corpora AI(https://www.askcorpora.com/) for more than a month with team of 4 people.
basically starting point was, one our friend mentioned a problem about, how small to big firms uses tradition search tools, and employee have to spend lot's of their time in finding right information from corpus of 1000 of pdfs and key word searching was very tedious and frustrating.
then the idea of making chatGPT like chat style AI tool to ask Q&A from large number of document came in.
this part took most of our time, we had to try out different solution, as let me tell you even seemingly simple task as extracting data from pdf in way that it keeps its most structure was not simple.
for a month we build a very interesting pipeline using different AI methods and LLM at every possible component, so data is best analyzed for Q&A and search.
then after we did through testing.
after we had beta product ready, we started to think let's try reach B2B companies and firms, but response was not that impressive.
cracking initial clients in B2B space is hard.
suddenly we saw a product in same space came out, then we thought why not give it try.
we are not marketing genius, so we started posting in various social media channels like twitter, reddit, reaching out to people with genuine cause.
trying to get some pr from newsletter.
guess what, people in social media like our product we got, enormous response from reddit, twitter, and communities.
People with good audience in the space gave response back.
we starting getting traction.
guess what it all happened in 3-4 days of kind of public launch.
we maxed out most of our servers and resources in 1-2 days, couldn't scale initially due to high traffic, gathered lot's of positive feedback.
we are still early and improving corpora AI every day, trying to start our journey in B2B space, getting more and more feedback from users.
if you like this little journey, you will like our product more.

Congrats on the early success!
thanks, but probably far away from success.😅
Seeing other indiehackers succeed is one of the best fuels for my own motivation! Thanks for sharing.
Are you guys sending any emails to people that are on the free tier to activate them and increase their likelihood of converting? Asking cause I'm currently building something and I'm still searching for people that want to give it a try (for free, no commitment whatsoever, just for some feedback).
Not email, we have exhausted lot of resources so, we have limited the search credits in free trial, once user is past free and they want to use it more they can ask for increase in credit limit, we are seeing some initial good response.
Sounds great. Would you be up to give User-Journey a try then? I'd love to help you get more people convert to paid. Currently, it's free while in early access 😁
sure love to, send me link.
Hey Navdeep, just looked through the signup and couldn't find yours. Here's the link again in case you forgot: https://user-journey.cc
It's https://user-journey.cc :)
Just stumbled upon you yesterday here :) https://topai.tools/t/ask-corpora
I think you have a ton of uses cases in B2B for corpora, best of luck.
thanks, yeah, that's the thought from starting.
Very inspiring. If you don't mind me asking were these free signups or did some users convert to paid users?
thanks, they were free, with limited trial, now users are converting to paid.
I see. Well done. Congrats on the success so far :)
Thanks for sharing.
Hey Navdeep,
Congrats on the users.
Question - are other businesses already making money from the type of solution that you have created? In other words, do other businesses selling the same solution/solving the same problem have paying customers?
We don't have any contracts now, but we are starting to work on trial basis with them, we are actually providing solution that can save the money in form of employee time, information will be readily available to all employee of company, some are interested in solution where they want to use it inside their search making it more user friendly and easily process large legal docs, so yeah we are seeing really good early interest.
yes. look at https://www.glean.com/
this is good because my coworkers dont read docs. curious about privacy? I think ChatGPT stores info to servers so a 100k+ word spec could have very sensitive IPs exposed.
Do you plan to spin out a private, on-server model for this long-term?
Also, I've tried copy/pasting snippets of spec documents on GPT3 (not GPT3.5) where I'd ask it questions on technical paragraphs. But it'd get the causation reversed.
Example something like "X causes Y, so you can't do Z"
"Can you do Z?"
"Yes, because Y causes X" or "Yes, because X causes Y"
Not sure if you've run into this / your product works around it.
We have tested some use cases similar to this, It seems it can work if these causality relation are not too much spread, like entire document corpus, if these causality are available in short document span or more simply in fixed text range then yeah, we have seen some pretty good result, this kind of use case is our next major move, once we have some resource stability with this one.
Very interesting! We're looking to launch a product later this month. Looking for ways to maximize our reach
Thanks and good luck.
Seeing you guys had a lot of success on Reddit I have to recommend this Reddit keyword monitoring tool called Surfkey.io
Btw Congrats on the surge of users! Super exciting
thanks, Will check it out for sure.
what single source brought more users?
and thanks for sharing in public
reddit and twitter was main source users, and but we also reached to lot of people by DMs on linked, from there we got direct connection, whether somebody interested or not, hence good feedback.
Nice. Im surprised the mods allowed you to promote your product directly. Usually they're quite strict about such things on Reddit.
Our one of the Reddit post had brought most of the users.

thanks so much for sharing!!
Amazing product. Are you planning to provide the platform as whitelabel solution ? Happy to discuss it further.
we are trying to provide as flexible solution to business as we can, I am happy to know more about your use case and discuss possible solution.
we can have a call if you want.
Thanks Navdeep for quick feedback. Yes we can have a call to discuss it further.
great, here is my twitter and gmail.
send me hello, I will setup a call.
