How have you reacted when discovering your product was cloned?

Recently I discovered a few clones for one of my products. While personally I found it flattering, I know the opposite end of the reaction spectrum can be very nerve racking, especially if you've endured significant struggles bringing something to market.

Tell me about your encounters with clones

I can't remember the name of the company, but I remember hearing about how it was one company's strategy to just clone great ideas and models that they see come on to the market.

Also, in the 'real world' there are clones everywhere. Supermarkets. Local shops. Hair dressers. etc. Obviously it doesn't mean that they can all survive all the time, hopefully there are enough customers to go around.

I would take it as a compliment and understand that there will always be competitors. And perhaps use it as a way to think about how you can differentiate yourself from the clones.

      Was it rocket internet?
