Hi everyone,
I am building the landing page for something I am working on and I was wondering how helpful is it to have customer testimonials shown on the landing page.
What has your experience been with showing customer testimonials? Does it help with conversion?
If yes, how do you collect testimonials from your customers?
Asking as I am wondering whether to ask customers for testimonials for my app:
Remote Only Engineers - A search engine for remote only jobs

Thanks
Literally any social proof helps. According to inc:
If there’s an opportunity to improve your results, take it!
Also, video testimonials also do much better than plain text.
Shameless plug: I’m building Senja, a tool that makes collecting and sharing testimonials as easy as 1-2-3. Just got superblog.ai’s testimonial section set up with it!
Statistics say:
"92% of consumers read online reviews and testimonials when considering a purchase. 88% of consumers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations. 72% of them say positive reviews and testimonials make them trust a business more."
Customer testimonials are super important to make your company trustworthy!
You can see how it works on our website: https://bowwe.com/en/
We've got a special section called "Our clients reviews". We also have the reviews proved by Honaro certificate which makes it even more reliable.
If you create your landing page or website on our BOWWE website builder you can connect it to Honaro trust-building platform, which is going to make every opinion work more efficiently as it proves the credibility to the readers. Thanks to special codes only authentic users give opinions which you can later display on your landing page with the certificate.
We can help you build a website that converts! Our mission is to give our customers not only visually attractive websites but the websites that convert an we know how to do it!
P.S. Every time you see a positive testimonial you should take advantage - now we're going to publish some of the newest video and LinkedIn testimonials on our social media, you can also think about publishing testimonials there.
As a user, if I don't see any customer testimonials or company logos or social proof, my immediate reaction is "this company must be new and not have any customers."
Obviously, that's not always the case. But that's how I feel.
Every form of testimonial or rating you can get is highly valuable - if you can show one with a name, a small graphic of someone's head, put their words in quotes etc. It all just makes it more believable. Listing a google rating or any other off-site rating is very powerful as well. People are more reluctant to make a bad decisions than they are to take a leap of faith. Testimonials serve as a "come on in the water's fine" message from a disinterested third party and the more the better.
If you dont have public facing ratings you can simply contact a few clients (try to get three testimonials that dont cover the same ground) and ask them if they would be kind enough to send you a one or two sentence testimonial if they like your product. People generally like to be helpful so you should get half a dozen or more and then cherry pick the 3 that are highly positive and coming in from different directions i.e "great support", "this widget solved my problem" and "I am saving time and money". That helps to cover more potential resistance points so that at least one maps to the latest visitor's primary concern.
the customer testimonials are helpful as https://atireshop.com/
What I am hearing is:
Customer testimonials are super important to build trust
Customer feedback can come from many places like Email, Twitter, Reviews.io, Trustpilot etc
Right now there is no easy way of seeing all reviews at one place and no way of integrating them on your landing pages.
Would you be interested in a solution which:
Collects reviews from places like Twitter, Reviews.io, Trustpilot and shows it on a single dashboard
You can pick and arrange these reviews in an order.
With a single line of code these reviews show up as a stream of cards on your website with link to the original source and with a time stamp like user X said this 1 hour ago.
Thanks folks. Testimonials win by a land slide 🙂
Are there any tools you would recommend for collecting testimonials or do you like to keep it personal and manual?
Yes. It is possibly one of the best avenues of leads for us. So many customers at demo sessions mention how they read reviews about us and contacted us.
We put testimonials on our home page, and our pricing page (and even on our app signup page), and we also have a special section on our website where we post all the best reviews we've received on Capterra or SourceForge etc.
That kind of peer recognition is critical in B2B SaaS's like ours, I would say.
I think the Trustpilot rating is better than the testimonial from a few customers on the landing page.
We plan to show the TrustPilot rating on our landing page when we get more reviews. I started to send out emails as a founder of InstantLogo to those who purchase the logo from us, it helps to get some reviews though.
Any specific reasons Why you think the trust pilot rating is better than the verbatim testimonials from customers.
I find it's nice to write what customers say, from customers. and to weave in those testimonials' verbiage into other parts of the copy.
I usually get them via email, asking "how are you getting along?" or "what's your struggle lately?" and then getting into a conversation, or just asking "how are you liking this so far?" or "was it useful?"
Ok so you don’t list the testimonials but derive language for Product copy from those.
I do both.
Product copy from testimonials is awesome, you can create this from customer support requests as well.
The main reason I read product reviews, is not the rating, those can be faked easily. It is the aspects and details the reviewer talks about. You never find these in product filters and don't read about them in professional reviews or feature lists.
For instance, I had a brand-new Audi A3 rental in France. Great car, but I cut myself on the plastic molding of the glove box. This is something you probably won't notice during a test drive, but you'll hate the car for it, if it were your own.
It is also one of the best ways to gather competitive intelligence.
