How I built a 600,000-user rewards platform solo, with no funding

Here's a revised version — keeps the story compelling without revealing your retention data or current strategic moves:

How I built a 600,000-user rewards platform solo, with no funding

In 2021 I had one goal: build something real without investors, without a co-founder, and without burning out.

I launched Freeward — a "Get Paid To" rewards platform where users earn real money completing surveys, offers, and online tasks. No team, no funding, just me, a laptop, and a conviction that the right product with the right distribution could grow itself.

Four years later, Freeward has 600,000 registered users across dozens of countries and still runs essentially alone.

Why a GPT platform

I chose the rewards space because the model suited a solo operator. Users come through organic search, complete tasks from offer providers, and earn real money. No inventory, no logistics. Simple enough to run lean, complex enough that most people don't bother trying.

How I built it

Laravel backend, Next.js frontend, everything handled by one person — development, design, DevOps, SEO. The first version launched in weeks. It wasn't pretty, but it worked.

Growth came from organic search, not ads. I treated SEO as a long-term system rather than a one-time task, and that compounding channel became the backbone of everything.

What I learned

Four years solo teaches you things no playbook covers. Trust is everything in this space. Retention is harder than acquisition. And leverage — through automation, SEO, and simple systems — is how one person competes with teams.

What's next

Freeward runs itself more every year. My focus now is systemizing operations further and building the next thing on top of everything I've learned.

Building solo was the best education I ever got. Just getting started.
