How I built a daily SMS/Email briefing service

I've been building GetDailyReports — a service that sends personalised daily briefings (weather, news, sports, stocks, horoscopes) via SMS or email.

The idea came from a simple frustration: checking multiple apps every morning just to get basic info. I wanted one message with everything I care about, delivered at a set time. No app, no notifications, no doomscrolling.

A few things I've learned so far:

  • A lot of users have asked about lifetime subscriptions instead of monthly plans — has anyone here tried offering lifetime deals? How did it work out long-term?

  • Keeping content concise for SMS forced better product thinking

  • The "no app needed" angle resonates more than I expected, especially with people tired of screen time

Currently focused on growing and improving personalisation. If you're curious, it's at getdailyreports.com.

Curious — what info would you want in a daily text that you can't easily get without opening multiple apps?
