How I Built a Telegram Directory to Solve a Problem I Faced Myself

When I started using Telegram regularly, I noticed how difficult it was to find active and relevant groups. Search results were often outdated, invite links had expired, and quality communities were buried under spam.

That's what inspired me to build TeleKit.

The idea was straightforward: create a place where users can easily discover Telegram groups and channels organized by category, while giving community owners a way to reach people who are genuinely interested in their content.

Some of the challenges so far:

Finding and verifying active Telegram communities

Organizing thousands of listings into useful categories

Keeping the directory updated as groups change over time

Growing traffic in a competitive search landscape

Some lessons I've learned:

Consistency matters more than perfection.

User feedback reveals problems you never notice yourself.

Small improvements compound over time.

Building a useful product is more sustainable than chasing shortcuts.

Current goals for TeleKit:

Expand the number of quality Telegram listings

Improve search and filtering

Publish helpful Telegram-related resources

Grow organic traffic and community engagement

Building in public keeps me accountable and helps me learn from other founders.

If you've built a directory, community platform, or marketplace, what was the biggest growth challenge you faced in the early stages?
