How I built a Twitter Personal Brand in 30 days! ๐Ÿฆ

Exactly 30 days ago, I made a post on IndieHackers. I promised myself that over the month of April, I would try my VERY BEST to grow a personal brand on Twitter.

Here is what I challenged myself to do:

2-3 Tweets a day
15 - 20 comments a day
1 - 2 Threads per week

Now...

Hereโ€™s what actually happened:

2 tweets a day
8 comments per day
1 thread per week

I definitely went a bit short of challenge, but still stayed up with my consistency. Posting every single day.

But now...

The results that you have been waiting for:

Followers: 80

Tweet Impressions: 39.4k

Profile Visits: 12k

In my opinion, joining Twitter was one of the best decisions I could have made. By far, the hardest part of growing on Twitter is consistency. However, if you are consistent, you will achieve growth. I had a few viral tweets myself ๐Ÿ˜Š

But...

The best part of it all was the relationships I made along the way.

On my journey to grow on Twitter, I met the teammates I am with now, on my new startup TagU. They are amazing, and I would have never met them without Twitter. At the moment, we are building a new SaaS product about team communication!

I truly believe that if you take Twitter seriously, you can make a personal brand for yourself as well. Trust me, it's worth it!

Building a personal brand on Twitter, or any social media platform, can be a rewarding experience that opens up new opportunities and connections. To build a Twitter personal brand in 30 days, focus on creating valuable content that resonates with your target audience. This could include sharing insights, tips, and resources related to your expertise or interests. Engage with other users by participating in conversations, responding to comments, and retweeting relevant content. Use hashtags strategically to increase visibility and reach a wider audience. Consistency is key, so try to post regularly and maintain a cohesive brand voice and image. Over time, your efforts will help you establish a strong presence on Twitter and build a loyal following.

    Great job!

I also think one of the best advantages of Twitter is meeting people and making connections. Sure, for some people it can be a nice distribution channel for their product, but for most of us it's the connections and friendships we make

Congratulations on your progress, Rohan! It's really impressive that you were able to maintain such consistency as it is very hard. Best of luck with TagU, and I'm looking forward to following your journey on Twitter!

Hard to be consistent while maintaining the quality of the tweets, I don't always find tweets to comment one where I have something valuable to add or good content idea for tweets. Gotta keep trying I guess!

    1. 1

After a lot of consistency, you start to get a hang of Twitter and can't stop thinking of things to write!

Just the right time to come across your experience. I have been trying to stay active on twitter and yes consistency is definitely the most difficult part.

Will try out your strategy. Thanks for sharing

Amazing results! I never understood Twitter fully and I have been struggling since day one. Especially to get followers - seem you have quite some traffic but also not getting %-wise follows one (might) expect. What do you think it the main reason for this? Followed you btw :)!

    1. 1

Thank you! I think that I will optimize my profile to get a higher % of followers. Bio, profile picture, banner, etc. is all very important for follower conversion.

tagu looks cool. Sounds like it's either a way for designers to mark up sites for research, or a great internal tool for eng teams to help debug and capture onsite issues. Maybe one of those are better than the other in terms of market.

    1. 1

Yeah definitely. I'm thinking that we are going to target eng teams for now, and see how it works out. Right now, we are trying to validate our idea, and get early adopters for our lifetime subscription plan. Do you have any recommendations on how we could achieve this?
