How I Built PayVoice to Cut Stripe Invoicing Fees

Hey Indie Hackers!

I’m building PayVoice, a micro-SaaS that helps businesses avoid Stripe’s 0.4% invoicing fee. I wanted to share my journey so far and some of the key takeaways.

The Problem

I noticed many small businesses and SaaS founders were paying Stripe's invoicing fee, and handling invoices manually was taking up too much time. This led to extra costs and increased customer support.

The Solution

I created PayVoice to tackle these problems:

  • No More Fees: PayVoice removes the 0.4% fee with a one-time payment.
  • Self-Serve Invoices: Customers can generate and edit invoices on their own.
  • Automated Invoicing: With API support, invoicing can be fully automated.
  • Quick Setup: No coding needed—setup takes about 1 minute.

Results So Far

  • 30% savings on invoicing costs for early users.
  • 25% fewer customer support tickets related to invoicing.
  • Fast onboarding—most users complete setup in under a minute.

What I’ve Learned

  • Focus on solving one clear problem.
  • Automate wherever possible—it saves time and scales.
  • User feedback is invaluable for product direction.

If you’re a founder dealing with invoicing, I’d love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions about my journey so far!
