How I came up with a product idea - A case study

I wanted to create a Chrome extension because I believe there are some great opportunities in there for developers.

So I started by exploring twitter and searching for chrome extensions that people are using.

One extension comes back often. It's called One Tab.

It's very helpful and does exactly what its title indicates : replaces all your tabs with a unique tab that lists all the others.

I installed it and started using it. Then, I noticed that I can add some improvements. I wanted to be able to manage my tabs from the tab list (sharing, bookmarking, copying, etc.) and I wanted to be able to do it either individually (for each tab in the list) or globally (for all tabs).

So I came up with a solution: Smart Tab.

Smart Tab is a simple chrome extension inspired by One Tab. In addition to listing your opened tabs, it offers you the possibility to share them on social media, to bookmark them or to copy them, either individually or globally.
