The Challenge: Creating a Memorable Logo
As I began conceptualizing the logo for BillsVault.com,
I had a clear vision in mind. Our platform is all about helping users organize their bills and documents effortlessly while ensuring they can search and access them easily.
The logo must reflect simplicity, security, and never losing important documents.
Experimentation with Design Tools
To kick off the logo creation process, I turned to one of my favorite design tools, Canva.
Tried with a palette of symbols—locks, keys, folders—I started experimenting.
After about 20 minutes of trial and error, I realized that my initial designs were missing the mark.
The feedback I received from early testers on Product Hunt and Linkedin #BuildinPublic was mixed, with some expressing confusion over the open folder concept.
Simplifying the Concept
After the feedback, simplicity was the key to effective branding.
I needed a symbol that instantly conveyed security and ease of use.
After not more than 2-3 iterations, I settled on a "Simple Square and Keyhole" design. This symbolic representation embodied our platform's promise of secure document storage and easy accessibility.
Final Thoughts
Through experimentation, feedback, I believe I have achieved a logo that resonates with our audience and effectively communicates our core values.
