How I decided to develop an HW product?

• 2018 B2C2B SaaS App - Failed ❌

• 2021 B2C Mobile App - Reached >2K users 📶

• 2024 B2C Hardware Product - ❓

I make a new product every 3 years. That's a natural cycle of mine :) I know it's pretty slow compared to fellas here making a new product every 2 weeks.

I've been involved in the indie hacker community for more than a year. I've learned many things here.

But overall I couldn't get along with the idea of shooting a lot of products and seeing what sticks.

I don't underestimate the power of iteration but I believe shots should be in a direction. Publishing products with totally different aspects and audiences doesn't sound right tbh.

This quote from Sun Tzu dropped in front of me at the right time.

"Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat."

I crafted a strategy based on my experience, instincts, and priorities. Hence very first product of this strategy will be a hardware product.
