How I gained 160 organic followers to my new project

Hey everyone!

I'm Orlundo, I'm building SaaSMe - a platform that helps indie hackers find trends before they take off.

Since I launched the landing page, I've been able to garner about 160 organic subscribers. Here's how:

My first bit of showcasing the project was in a newsletter group that I am a part of. I announced that I would be building a platform that helps my subscribers stay ahead of SaaS trends. From that, I was able to garner about 20 subscribers.

(Note, that all of these numbers will be rough numbers).

From there, I took my efforts to Reddit. I am a part of a few groups, the two where I first posted were r/entrepreneurs and r/saas. These gained me a decent amount of traffic, maybe 30 - 40 more subscribers after multiple posts. The thing about Reddit is that you probably will get more flack than positive feedback most times.

After I exhausted Reddit without getting blocked as a spammer. I came to Indiehackers and shared what I was working on. I gained some good feedback as well as another 20 - 30 subscribers.

I can't forget about Twitter. I have about 1,500 followers on Twitter. Not a huge audience, but I posted there and I probably gained another 10 - 15 followers.

Where the biggest surprise came, was from Product Hunt. I listed the project as a "coming soon" project. I totally forgot about it. A month or so went by and the launch date that I set came, and Product Hunt launched the landing page.

The project got the #9 product of the day! Woah! That completely shocked me and I got a good amount of feedback. That launch gained me another 55 subscribers!

For me, this was validating that I was potentially on to something.

What I plan to do from here is to continue to market, as well as figure out how I plan to make sure that the trends that I deliver are new, fresh, and on the cutting edge.
