How I generated my first 120+ Leads

Last week I wrote a post giving away a free course that I created.

I also posted it on LinkedIn and it got some good interest from both platforms.

The course is called “Building your business in the digital space” and it puts together everything I know about taking your concept from idea through to scaling online.

So how did I get my first 120+ leads?

I used this course as a Lead Magnet.

I was somewhat sceptical at first as I know how Lead Magnets are used as a marketing tactic that many businesses practise to capture emails with annoying popups and PDFs.

But if you are starting out and looking for a good way to get your first leads, lead magnets work. They are still a powerful tool for creating value and capturing leads.

Putting in some work up front to create a compelling lead magnet that you know has value will allow you to generate leads in return. I genuinely felt others could learn something from the course I created.

I know many projects here on Indie Hackers are always looking for ways to get their first customers and leads. I hope this shows that creating and enticing lead magnet can still work.
