As a developer passionate about product building. I built EasyFrontend and I felt frustrated after building a product and not getting any users. I felt like I was in the middle of an ocean, wondering how I could bring users to my site as I had no experience with marketing.
Little did I know that by leveraging platforms like Facebook Group, Reddit, Hacker News, Twitter, and LinkedIn, I would exceed my expectations and gain over 1000 sign-ups. Here’s how I did it.
Reddit was my first choice for starting marketing, although I initially used Reddit for socializing and keeping up with the news. I targeted my audience and posted on related subreddits. Although the journey was not easy, as some people were quick to criticize my product, I discovered it was a valuable way to gather feedback and improve the product

One of my friends told me to try to post on HackernNews. Also, he advised me to beware of not spamming. For a test purpose, I submitted my domain URL and it got featured. I got a huge response from HN.

Twitter proved instrumental in amplifying my reach and directing traffic to my website. Through the dissemination of relevant content, engagement with related communities, and active participation in industry conversations, I expanded my audience and attracted potential users. I found many developers and product owners who were in the same stage of marketing.

Previously I used LinkedIn for job searching and application purposes. I went differently to post updates about my product on LinkedIn. I got a good response from it as well.

While I posted on this someone featured my product to DailyDev and Dev. to.
I found a consent visitor from here.
I also made some small videos about my product and how it works and posted them as a reel. Some influencers are interested in making a video on my product for free.
Today I launched it to ProduchtHunt. Show your support. It means a lot to us.
What stood out to me is how you focused on posting in the right communities and engaging with people instead of just dropping links. That seems to be the pattern in a lot of successful indie launches real conversations bring much better traction than pure promotion.
In some experiments I’ve done with social growth, the hardest part is usually getting the initial momentum on posts. Once a post has some engagement, it tends to spread much more naturally across communities. Sometimes we slightly boost early engagement (views/interactions) just to create a bit of social proof before sharing it in communities. One tool I tested for small batches during Telegram promotion experiments was smm, plus , and it worked reasonably well when used together with real community promotion.
Overall, your main takeaway feels spot-on: distribution and community interaction matter just as much as building the product itself.
Congrats! Have you tried The Sample? It basically promotes your newsletter posts for free to people who want a "sample" of posts similar to yours. Here's a link: https://thesample.ai/?ref=7704 (you also get bonus points for people signing up through your referral link like this one). I haven't gotten a ton of traffic from it, but a steady trickle of subscribers which is great considering it's free.
Thank you @typeofnan . I did not check that nor heard that before. I will give it a try. 🙌🏼

Hey! Big congratz on the Product Hunt launch, I see you did extremely well!
Maybe you have any suggestions regarding that?
Thank you 🙌🏼 . I am planning to write an article on it. Will share soon 😀
Did you write an article for PH launch? I am curious as I have saved the draft for my product and just looking for Tips to better on launch day.
Thank you for sharing. We are also in the early stages of developing our own product. After testing Twitter, Google Ads (including display ads), and Reddit, we found that Twitter is really a great starting channel (lowest cost for the most users). We will test the effectiveness of YouTube this week and look forward to receiving a lot of feedback from it.
Best wishes 🙌🏼
Good luck to you Siful Islam. I have also reached a stage where I need to think about getting members organically for my product. Your experience sharing was very helpful.
Thank you 🙌🏼
This is great!
Which subreddit did you post btw? On reddit?
I focus on my audience targeted subreddit. Some subreddit that can help with any product is r/SideProject/ and r/selfhosted

That's awesome dude! On boarding your first 100 customer is a challenge. The way you did it, it's pretty remarkable. When I launched my product, I didn't follow this steps. I only launched on PH where I got my users. Inspiring mate! Keep it up :D
Thank you @rrahian 🙌🏼
Impressive growth! Could you share which social media platform contributed the most to your sign-ups? Any particular content strategy that worked well?
