I also see letting a 3rd party manage my affiliate program as a way to increase trust.
Because with your in-house solution you could easily fake those numbers...
Did you get any issue related to a lack of trust ?
This is a really good question. We see this all the time. Typically if someone is serious about making affiliate marketing a key channel for their growth, they don't build it in-house. The best affiliates will want an independent platform that's been battle tested. I've only come across 1 company in the last 3 years that had a meaningful amount of affiliate revenue from an in-house solution.
If you just want to dabble, building something in-house is a reasonable option though.
