How I Learned Agencies Were Burning Hours

Hey Indie Hackers 👋,

A few months ago, I was talking to a friend who runs a small marketing agency. She was stressed, juggling ClickUp for projects, emails for clients, WhatsApp for urgent requests, and Slack for her team. I watched her spend an entire afternoon just chasing messages and clarifying tasks—not actually working on anything meaningful.

It got me thinking: this chaos isn’t just frustrating—it costs agencies money, time, and energy.

I started asking more agency owners:

  • “How many tools do you use to manage projects + clients?”

  • “How often do tasks slip through the cracks?”

The answers were all the same: too many apps, too little control, constant context switching.

Here’s the thing I learned from them:

  1. Centralization matters more than features. You can have 100 tools, but if your communication and tasks are scattered, it’s useless.

  2. Automation and templates save brainpower. Repeating the same email or task every week? There’s a better way.

  3. Transparency keeps clients happy. Clients want to know what’s happening, without you spending hours updating them manually.

So, I decided to build a solution that solves this problem, not just another project management tool.

That’s how Emergess was born. It’s a place where agencies can:

  • Manage projects and clients in one place

  • Reduce missed messages and lost tasks

  • Save hours every week so they can focus on creative work

I’m sharing this because I think many indie hackers, solopreneurs, or agency owners will relate. I’d love to hear your thoughts:

  • How do you currently manage client chaos?

  • What’s your biggest time-drain?
