How I’m marketing BlogBowl to get some exposure

Hey friends đź‘‹

Quick update on how I’m getting the word out about BlogBowl. I’m keeping it simple, consistent, and lightweight so I actually stick with it.

What I’m doing right now 👇

  • LinkedIn outreach (daily)

    • I send ~20 connection requests per day.

    • Goal: build a small network I can activate when we launch.

  • Writing to Indie hackers

    • I am not doing it regularly, but once I have something to share I am writing a post about it

  • Posting on X

    • Back to sharing progress, tiny wins, and product clips.

    • X has been great for quick visibility and feedback.

    • here is my twitter, btw

  • Dogfooding BlogBowl for SEO

    • I’m using our AI to draft articles on auto-pilot.

    • I’ll do one solid day of research to lock in the SEO plan, then let it run.

  • Changelog + newsletter (with BlogBowl)

    • I sometimes send a quick changelog newsletter.

    • Collecting subscribers and scheduling is actually painless (yay dogfooding).

    • Here is how scheduled newsletter looks like

What’s next

  • Finish my SEO prep day: keywords, content plan, and internal linking basics.

  • Turn on the “auto-publish” for blog posts.

  • Start experimenting with short videos once the SEO engine is humming.

I’m looking for a co‑founder 🤝

If you’re excited about SaaS, content, and go-to-market, I’d love to chat. I’m especially looking for someone non-technical who wants to drive growth. DM me on X or LinkedIn and let’s talk.

how does it do keyword research?

    1. 1

We use 3rd party for that. DataForSEO, but I suppose that they're using some Google services

I didn’t understand this: I’m using our AI to draft articles on autopilot

    1. 1

Oops, sorry if I wasn’t clear earlier!

With BlogBowl, I don’t actually write the articles myself. I just enter a title, and the AI generates a complete SEO-optimized blog post for me - including images, citations, tables, and even videos.

It knows context of the business to do so, which user can specify in onboarding steps.

Here is example of such AI generated post: "Top 10 Free Website Blog Platforms"

Oh, I get it. Yeah, when you are working on a project, the AI knows almost all the context needed. Thanks for the clarification.

        1. 1

That's not really because we work on the project, BlogBowl does it automatically and it can work for any other project.

The idea is that you provide your website URL, we fetch the content on your website, analyze it, prepare context and suggest you topics that you can write.
After that it is up to you to let AI run suggested topics or the ones you created manually.

Love how you’re keeping BlogBowl’s marketing lean but consistent. SEO + dogfooding is a smart compounding play—especially if you map keywords to long-tail user pain points (faster wins than generic terms). For reach, you might test micro-partnerships: swapping audience spotlights with other early-stage founders. Low-cost, high-trust, and great for credibility. Excited to see BlogBowl grow.

Marketing as a solo founder is brutal , a big hats off for diving into it. What’s been the single most effective channel so far for you? And do you think that’s something you can scale sustainably, or is it more of an early traction play?

Hey Dan, curious, how long do you typically see BlogBowl content takes before its start to take hold and compound in search? I'm cold starting a blog on my site and haven't seen much traction yet, but know SEO can be a long slow grind.

Hi, we also just started, but based on TopTool's success, I can say to let it run for few months.

The important thing is to get backlinks. With DR of 0 you won't get much clicks ;)

If you want to set up a blog, I can show you the demo of the platform. You can start absolutely for free and save multiple weeks of work setting up the blog, newsletter and so on.

Appreciate the insight, Dan. Makes sense that it takes a few months to kick in. Backlinks are definitely on my radar, but still figuring out the best approach there.

Hey Dan, love how you’re using BlogBowl to automate content and stay consistent. Daily LinkedIn outreach, X updates, and dogfooding your own AI for SEO is a solid mix. Have you thought about doubling down on niche communities like Reddit or specific Slack groups? Partnerships and app marketplaces could also give you a strong lift. Excited to see how your short video experiments go and hope you find a co-founder with strong growth chops, that’d be a great fit.

    1. 2

Yes, i actually want to start posting on reddit as well

  8. 1

Love how structured your approach is. You’re hitting the right balance between consistency and not burning yourself out. From my side, I’ve seen niche communities (Reddit and specific Slack groups) bring in much warmer leads than cold outreach, since people are already in discovery mode there. Partnerships can also punch above their weight if you find a tool that’s complementary. Curious, are you planning to double down more on SEO or social once you see early traction?

    1. 1

That's a good suggestion, I also want to try Reddit.
Currently, I am planning to double down on open sourcing the code ;)
