How I’m turning every blog post into SEO fuel with AI (and still learning)

Hey Indie Hackers 👋

I’m Julien, founder of Linkeme, a SaaS that automates social media content from idea to image to scheduled post.

We recently started a big experiment: turning every blog post into a scalable SEO asset — powered almost entirely by AI.

Why?

Because as a bootstrapped founder, we don’t have the luxury of a full content team. But we do need traffic.

Here’s what we’re doing:

🧠 Our AI SEO workflow

  1. Topic discovery: We use GPT-4o to map keywords based on our product features, competitor pages, and user pain points.

  2. Outline first: We scrape the top 5 Google results and feed them into an LLM to build a high-quality structure.

  3. Write section-by-section: Each block is drafted, reviewed, and enhanced with calls to action and visual prompts.

  4. Cross-linking: Our AI suggests internal links based on semantic similarity across our content (this part is still improving).

  5. Multilingual output: Key articles are translated and localized (we’re based in Luxembourg, so multilingual helps).

We’re aiming for quality > quantity, but AI is helping us do both.

🚧 Challenges so far

  • Google doesn’t like generic AI text. We had to build guardrails to avoid sounding like a bot.

  • Adding real value (tables, examples, original images) still takes manual input.

  • Internal linking is tricky to get right — relevance matters, and automation can get spammy.

📈 Early Results

  • We’ve started ranking for long-tail keywords like “AI LinkedIn post generator” and “automated social calendar tool”.

  • Bounce rate dropped when we improved article structure and added TOCs.

  • Blog-driven signups: still early, but already converting better than expected.

We’re combining this with a long-term backlink strategy and an eventual Product Hunt launch.

Curious to hear…

  • Have you tried using AI for content and SEO?

  • Any tools or workflows you swear by? (we will try to test blogbowl.io from our new friend on IH)

  • How do you balance automation and authenticity in long-form writing?

I’m happy to share more details about prompts, tools (we use Claude + GPT), and lessons if helpful.

Thanks for reading 🙏

    Hi Julien,
That's nice to hear that you want to try blogbowl.io.

Actually I was working on that AI automation for BlogBowl and everything what you describe here would be automated - image creation, citation and so on - I'll write a post about that today , but you can already check fully AI generated article here - https://template-blog-1.blogbowl.app/posts/how-to-create-a-blog-for-your-saas-product (it is not yet ideal, I still need to fix some formatting, but it is definetely a killer function to grow your business)

I plan to release this functionality within a month and I would be happy to give you a discount to be one of our first clients, so you would pay only for LLM calls while we're in Beta(around 0.50 cents per article, maybe less, I need to calculate it), what do you think about that?

P.S. I also tried to do AI check and this content is evaluated to be 78% human 🤯

How do you do to be sure that google will correctly see each new pages of your blog ?

hi Julien, We have built an AI agent that does that and found loopholes to overcome those challenges.

it is still in beta version, but we are testing it out with several agencies the results are promising and we have some case studies, planning to launch soon.

happy to give a demo tour for our agent.

How it works: the AI agents picks up your seed keywords and scrapes the web / prompts AI and several other forums and matches the intent and keywords from google ads planner (or ahrefs if you connect the API).

outcome: detailed content strategy based on your users pain points

you can choose either to generate the content with AI our export the content brief to your content writer.

Let me know if you think this is helpful, feedbacks are appriciated

Really insightful approach, Julien! I love how you’re combining AI with hands-on tweaks to keep content authentic — that balance is so key. I’m also working on an AI-powered tool, but focused on helping small businesses navigate complex compliance like HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001, and SOC 2. It’s been great to see how niching down helps with messaging and product focus. Would love to swap ideas sometime or hear how you approach content for a niche market! If anyone’s curious, feel free to check out compliassistant.com — always keen to learn from fellow Indie Hackers here.

Hey Julien! Actually, in the last weeks, I did start to understand how it works with creating content with AI for specific (highly searched) keywords.

So far it is only Bing that does not like the AI produced content (at least they state it in their terms of use for indexing). The page got indexed anyway, just, it is less findable as via Google.

So far, I did notice that Google marks the AI generated pictures as AI content but I guess it is also possible to turn the tables and to make an advantage of it. But I could not find any AI labeling for AI generated text.

I tried a setup close to yours but for a niche domain and in a much smaller scale. Result: Google did index the site as I wanted via @type: FAQPage and I was able to see my efforts in the Google Search results. And it does not complain about AI generated text.

I am still trying but for at least for the next 1-2 years I guess a mix of OpenAI, Gemini and other AI tools will be enough to have an accepted content. At the moment I prefer Gemini for code and image generation and OpenAI for text generation.
