I launched my company No Code MBA on Product Hunt last week! I did a lot of research before launching on Product Hunt, and thought it would be helpful to share what I did to get to the front page and finish as the #4 product of the day.
The launch sent over 2000 unique visitors to the site, added more than 250 email subscribers and 50 No Code MBA Unlimited members.
Schedule your launch on Product Hunt
I scheduled my launch for 12:01AM Pacific time to give it the longest time possible to get upvotes. You don't need someone to hunt your product for you. Product Hunt says it doesn't help you to have someone else hunt you, and if you hunt yourself you have the ability to edit and tweak your own listing.
Build your audience
I spent the first few months after releasing my product building my audience. I'd recommend having at least 500 email subscribers before launching on Product Hunt so you can let your subscribers know when you launch. It really helps get your product to the front page if you get early upvotes, so having a built-in audience is very helpful
I launched with almost 800 email subscribers and 1000 twitter followers.
Remind your audience
I tweeted about every 2 hours throughout the day reminding followers about the launch
Include a discount
I offered a 50% discount off lifetime memberships for the day with a unique product hunt code for their audience.
Don't ask for upvotes
Instead, just ask for feedback or comments.
Make sure you have an email capture on your site
So far I've received 250 new email subscribers on 2000 visitors - you'll want to make sure your site is ready with an email capture, ideally with a reason for visitors to give you their email so you can contact them later.
Post in various groups online
Post in relevant groups online to your product. Because my product is related to No Code, that's where I posted my product. (slack groups, facebook groups, reddit, indie hackers, etc).
Respond to comments on Product Hunt
Stay active on Product Hunt by responding to comments throughout the day.
