Hello there,
First, a bit of background. I launched Wordblot just about a month ago on IndieHackers. The reception has been pretty awesome as I’m already up to over 100 free trial signups. My paid conversions are lower than I’d like, but I can work on that.
I’ve made some pretty great product updates with the biggest update deploying (hopefully) today. Unlike all the AI writers out there, Wordblot does NOT I use GPT-3, and can therefore do long-form arbitrary text creation. It’s not limited to templates. That’s the aspect I plan to focus on.
As for the AppSumo, I’ve been hesitant to post because the product never felt quite “ready,” but as they say, “perfection is the enemy of progress.” So I plan to post to AppSumo by Wednesday with a $49 annual deal. Normally, that would be $480 ($24/month), so it’s almost a 90% discount. I have a few $150 Google AdWords credits that I will use to target the AppSumo deal and hopefully create enough momentum for the fine folks at AppSumo to push Wordblot.
My goal is 250 signups from AppSumo - which I know is a lot. But I’m staying positive and focused.
I’ll report back how the deal goes and share my learnings along the way. Any tips before I launch?
Slight hiccup with the plan so far. I need to create better creatives, so I might upgrade to a paid BrandBird subscription. Thanks @nikhil_WebFosters for the LTD list. I’ll hit all of them, starting with AppSumo and report my progress!
maybe also try to post the deal in other marketplaces like, here's list you can try
Okay, almost submitted. I ran into an issue with the codes. The CSV I made isn't acceptable somehow, so I'm waiting on their support to reply. Fingers crossed!
You aware that, to make $12,250 on appsumo.com - you need to sell in in value of 35k ?!
Hmmmm….. challenge accepted 🤑
Can you keep us posted with the result on each day and with all the info on what and how you did?
Will do!
How is it going with the LTD ?
they keep 65%?
I think I misunderstood a bit of information, but they do keep a very good percent.
Here's the model of monetization they use: https://blog.appsumo.com/appsumo-myths/
Actually now, that I have verified, they keep around 40%.
For me, it's more about the initial users to use Wordblot and get that flywheel spinning 😁
I wish you lots of success :)
Thanks so much! Any tips you might have to share?
Maybe also spend money on Facebook to push your deal to Appsumo customers.
