Hey Indie Hackers
I’m Jet, and I’m excited to share a story about how writings and notes can helped me think clear and stay focused. And it surely can help you too.
Two years ago, I hit a rough patch—anxiety, insomnia, and the struggles of starting my own business had me feeling completely lost. One rainy afternoon, I walked into a café, disconnected from everything, and started writing. That day, I spent hours reflecting and jotting down thoughts like “The Life I Want in the Next Decade.” It was transformative. Writing gave me clarity, peace, and strength I hadn’t felt in a long time.
That day, something shifted. Writing gave me clarity. It helped me untangle my thoughts, reflect, and find a sense of direction.
Since then, I’ve made writing and reflecting a weekly ritual. It’s changed the way I think, work, and grow. But as I leaned more into this practice, I noticed a problem: most note-taking tools store information but don’t help you think or grow.
For nearly a decade, I’ve been an avid reader, dedicating at least half an hour daily to books. I often juggle two or three titles, switching between them to keep my mind fresh and engaged. Reading, for me, isn’t just a refuge—it’s a superpower, enriching my knowledge and providing strength.
I’ve always longed to capture the powerful insights I encounter—a poignant phrase, a profound realization, or a vivid image. In my youth, I kept handwritten notes, but they vanished after being mistaken for waste paper. Later, I tried various note-taking apps, only to find they mostly served as storage tools. As records piled up, retrieving specific thoughts became frustratingly difficult, and many were lost to time.
I crave a way to collect, recall, and connect my notes more flexibly. I dream of linking fragments together, nurturing them into a cognitive map—a tree of thought—so they can grow and evolve, rather than fade into obscurity like my old journals.Once I thought to myself, even if Pocnote was just for me, it would have been worth building. But now, it’s here for anyone who wants a tool that’s as thoughtful as they are.
I’ve tried all the popular tools—Evernote, Notion, Google Keep. They’re great in their own ways, but none felt personal, warm, or intuitive enough for deep reflection. They were either too complex or too rigid, focused more on productivity than helping me connect the dots between my thoughts.
So, I decided to build something just right.
After years of using all kinds of notes, there are things that I thinks a good note should never ignore.
Pocnote is my attempt to create a tool that isn’t just about efficiency but about energy.A simple, human-centered tool designed not just to store thoughts but to help you reflect, connect ideas, and grow. It’s built to turn scattered fragments into a bigger picture, Let your “Tree of Thought” evolves over time.
Simple and Human-Centered: No clutter, no unnecessary features—just space to write, reflect, and grow.
Works for Both Fragments and Essays: Whether it’s quick ideas or deep journaling, Pocnote adapts to your style.
Inspires Growth, Not Just Efficiency: It’s not about cramming tasks into a day—it’s about sparking energy and clarity. Linking and Review is the basic pattern of learning.
AI That Assists, Not Replaces: AI helps with repetitive tasks like formatting, translations, summarizing but never takes over your creativity.
I’ve built products with millions of users before, but the pressure for rapid growth and profit often came at the expense of real purpose. With Pocnote, I’m taking a different path.
This isn’t just another app—it’s a reflection of my belief in the power of writing to transform lives. I want to create something real, lasting, and meaningful.
Pocnote is far from perfect—it’s a work in progress—but I’d love for you to try it and share your honest feedback.
