How I reached $2k MRR 🤑

Hi guys,

I've been an indie hacker for 7 years. I think we all benefit from sharing our experiences. So I'm recording videos that explain in detail how my businesses tick. My latest video shows how I cloned @patio11's Appointment Reminder to reach a very stable $2k MRR. Check it

Very inspirational. Sometimes a "unique" idea is just overrated; innovation comes in many forms -- the product, the business model, the marketing, even the internal processes like hiring and culture -- and doesn't necessarily need to be the idea itself.

Your experiences selling to doctors mirror mine trying to sell to dentists -- it's high-touch, you need to hunt them down, sell them one-on-one, long sales cycle, and have connections to be able to grow the business. This, along with the vulnerable position of being an add-on service instead of standalone, probably pushed you over the edge and kept this as a maintenance instead of a growth business. And I completely understand.

$2k/mo probably keeps you afloat and then some in Austria though. What a nice chunk of change! Congratulations and hope to see more videos from you in the future.

Thank you! $2k isn't actually that much in Austria. But it's definitely a good base. I'm already working on the next video :)

Thank you for the kind words! I've since started a few other projects. Most notably, a file manager (https://fman.io) and an ebook (https://build-system.fman.io/pyqt5-book).
