How I Saved $7,000 on Twitter Ads. Guide:

I actively promote my project (M1-project.com) on Twitter by paying influencers to advertise it. In two months, I've ordered $15,000 worth of advertising, but I've only actually paid $8,000 after negotiating on terms.

Here are the approaches I use to reduce prices:

1) I prepare the promotional material (Twitter threads) myself.

I would like to emphasize that we will fully prepare the advertising material, and the influencer will only need to copy and publish it.

Pros:

  • Easy money for the influencer
  • We control the quality of promotional materials

Minuses:

  • Expenditure of time resources on the creation of promotional materials

Example (first try $700, second try $200):

2) I position myself as a regular customer.

Another good argument in favor of a discount is that we are actively advertised and will be regular customers.

I often post examples of past threads posted by other influencers as evidence.

3) I build long-term relationships.

The more we've already paid an influencer, the more loyal they will be. I reduced the price from $500 to $200 from a quality influencer. The discounts came in 3 stages: $400, $300, $200.

Example (starting price $250; next ad placement for $125):

4) I don’t criticize.

I don't criticize the influencer's reach or audience after running an ad campaign.

If I did, this would only raise the question in the influencer's mind: “Well, if I have a bad audience, why did you come to me for advertising in the first place?”

5) I give them time to think.

Sometimes the bargaining process is simple: the influencer agrees immediately.

Example (discount from $250 to $100 for 1 message):

But sometimes it’s worth leaving the influencer for a while and writing to them again with a proposal.

If the influencer stands their ground, we write, “I’ll go and discuss it with the team,” and come back again. You can always count on discounts for long-term work (point 3).

Example (starting price $250; posted for $100 a month later):

I have a free tool called VeilMail.io that stops bots scraping your website email address. I want to promote it. Any ideas?

Hi! I am not your target audience, I don't care about corporate email spam.
You should define your target audience first. You can do it manually (interviews) or using our product: https://m1-project.com/ideal-customer-profile-generator

      so decide :)

Some of these “influencers” are total wackos. They can get so out of touch with reality.

Very helpful information. Thank you so much.

This is great. I've been stuck regarding influencer marketing due to outrageous costs. Will give this a try. Controlling the content and paying less is just perfect.

Thanks for sharing. It seems like you directly reach out, do you know if they already to this type of service to other brands/products? If they are popular enough, how would they even reply, wouldn't they think it's spam or just fans.

Is there a 'influencer' marketing platform that lists the influencers who are open to ads with more transparent pricing and transaction. Do you create a contract for this or use PayPal.

Yes, I did direct reach out. There is not platforms with influencers for my niche.
A paid via crypto and paypal.
