I started thinking about writing an eBook on Laravel's Queue System around a year ago, but always thought writing a book requires full focus that I'll have to take time off from my job.
Then back in February, I started writing snippets for the book 1 hour before my work day. Around March, COVID hit and I stopped working on the book for about a month. Thought the world may end 😅 (Joke).
Early April I picked up work on the book again, still writing bits and pieces 1 hour in the early morning before my work day. By June, I started to feel confident that I have something to put together and call a "book".
It took me around 2 months to glue the pieces together into a 220+-page book in a PDF form. I then launched Laravel Queues in Action last month.
What I wanted to say is that I was wrong thinking I have to dedicate my full-time to working on the book. 1 hour every work day and 3 hours every weekend were enough!
