How I took my agency to 5k MRR in 100 days

I want to share my success story so far.

Some background: I ran my design studio for the past 12 years, working mostly with startups and taking them off the ground. In the past couple of years, I noticed two things.

1 Startups are moving faster.
2 Me and my team were designing & developing things much faster too thanks to better tools (Figma, Next JS, Vercel, Canva etc.)

To the point where admin was taking more time than the actual design (not because admin was slow, but because design was fast).

So about 6 months ago I started https://supereasy.club - a new model for a design & dev studio that prioritizes delivery and runs on transparent fixed weekly pricing.

The catch that this runs on is that we do very accurate estimates. If we tell a client we ship in 4 weeks, we ship in 4 weeks.

We didn't really know if this would work out in real life. Neither I nor my partner are great sellers. But we found we could sell this very easily. Pricing is right there on the site. No more proposals. No more back and forth, doing the dance that all other agencies (including ourselves) did.

We landed our first client a couple of months ago. We shipped a branding + web dev project in 5 weeks (!!!). It was very fulfilling.

I started on a hunch that startups need a different kind of service. Everything is moving at mind-boggling speeds today. Most agencies are slow.

Seems like that bet paid so far. I'm curious to see how it goes into the next year, seeing that things are slowing down in tech and in general. Our signals have been as strong as ever, and we're onboarding new projects at a pace. Also looking to grow our team of collaborators (maybe I'll write a post about that model as well).

Hey Ana, would it make sense to lock in the partnership before 2023?
