Let me walk you through how I’d build a $10k MRR SaaS using SEO in just 8-12 months.
SEO starts with keyword research. It’s the bread and butter. I’d kick things off by using a solid keyword research tool. But if I wasn’t familiar with it (or didn’t want to pay for one), I’d either:
Hire an SEO pro.
Or just hop over to OutGenerate.com
Here’s the plan:
Find a niche that’s monetizable, with low-competition keywords.
Look for an Exact Match Domain (EMD) with high search volume.
A quick idea that I love so much on outgenerate is : “ai shopping assistant.” It’s got everything I want—easy to monetize (affiliate links, subscriptions, you name it), and gets 1500 searches every month.

Firstly, I get my domain.
Most domains related to this keyword are expensive. I could spend $$$ getting aishoppingassistant.com or take the “io” TLD variant for $34.
To the next phase. I build.
I just have to do everything right, because this can break or make my SEO.
Bad products don’t get marketed. It works with SEO too.
Here’s where most people get it wrong—they launch and then… nothing. They just wait for the God of SEO.
I’d rather go all-in on getting real users:
Launch on Product Hunt, Reddit, Twitter, and anywhere else people are looking for.
Offer a generous free plan to attract users. Accessibility is important at this point. Thankfully, it doesn’t cost a lot to run an “ai shopping assistant.”
Focus on getting my first beta users and feedback.
If my product is good, this is what creates consistent users, returning users, people who will search up my site on Google.
…what builds my SEO.
Because of course, Google's crawl bot only starts a crawl session with users.
Google’s consistent crawling should be my most important need at this point.
Simply put, if Google stops crawling my site, it stops knowing my site.
If it stops knowing my site, I’d never rank.
I was also wise to use the EMD, “aishoppingassistant.io.” so traffic coming to my site validates my authority for “ai shopping assistant.” Simply means, in no time, I should own the keyword on SERPs.
Yes, the next thing I want to do is to spam my product across directories. Navigational links are important at this point.
If they're not harmful, and have chances of starting a crawl session to my site, I'm buying that.
I'll spend the next month doing this.
By month 4, I should consider monetizing. Perhaps ending the free plan or reducing my generosity. I will prefer reducing my generosity. Perhaps a free usage up to a certain point.
While I do this, I want to push as many free tools as possible.
Contents, and free tools would be all I care about. I need to rank for more keywords.
By month 6-8, I should be sitting at around 100k monthly traffic.
And if just 1% of that traffic converts to a $10/month subscription, that’s $10k in MRR.
Feel free to steal this roadmap. Seriously.
