How I write ad headlines. Fast.

Hi guys, I'm Shlomo – a copywriter and a digital nomad.

Almost 6K people on LinkedIn liked this post, so I thought you might find it useful too.

I challenged myself to come up with as many ads as possible in one hour⌛

I picked KeepCup – Reusable coffee cups – as my imaginary client ☕

Here's my process.

1. FIND AN ENEMY

2. GATHER INTELLIGENCE

♻️Paper cups contain plastic.

⌛Every second, we use 20,000 disposable cups.

🌊Coffee cup lids are made from single-use plastic, so they often end up in the ocean.

3. MIND MAP

These were my keywords.

4. FIND PHRASES

I searched each keyword on the websites below to find expressions, lyrics, jokes, etc.

alt text onelook.com/spruce – find phrases, quotes, lyrics, and jokes.

alt text idioms.thefreedictionary.com – find idioms and phrases.

5. CONNECT

Facts + Phrases = Headlines

If destroying the planet is not your cup of coffee
Good Cup. Bad Cup.
By the time you're done saying:"A venti green tea frappuccino with a strawberry smoothie base, two pumps of caramel, three espresso shots, and topped with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle." 100,000 disposable cups will be used & discarded.
I see... I see... I see this cup floating in the sea.
A reusable cup for an overused planet.
