How I wrote and published a 16000 character guide in 3 days with the help of ChatGPT

I am a web developer by profession and a terrible writer. Furthermore, English is not even my native language!

Seeing others succeed and knowing what a massive effect good content marketing can have on your SaaS sales, I tried to write a guide about my AI art generation platform, dreamlike.art. I struggled and failed, several times. It's just not my strong point. As a solo founder of a money-heavy bootstrapped startup I wasn't able to hire or find a good writer, so I was kind of stuck there.

But then, ChatGPT was released!

After some experimenting, I ended up with this prompt to write text based on facts.

I’m writing a support text for my AI art generation website.
Help me write it. I want you to include these things in the text.
Make sure to keep the text short, straight to the point.
Use simple language. The title of the text is: Steps Parameter

- Steps control how many iterations of noise removal Stable Diffusion will perform
- The more steps there are, the better the result until a certain point
- In 95% of cases images converge on 30 steps and don’t noticeable change on higher steps
- Steps directly affect generation speed and cost. 1 image with 30 steps will
cost 1 credit, while the same image with 50 steps will cost 1.7 credits.
- It is strongly recommended to keep the steps at 30 or less

And here is an example output straight from ChatGPT:

The Steps parameter on our AI art generation website controls how many iterations of noise removal Stable Diffusion will perform. The more steps there are, the better the result will be up to a certain point. In most cases, images will converge on 30 steps and won't change much on higher steps.

Keep in mind that the number of steps directly affects the generation speed and cost. For example, 1 image with 30 steps will cost 1 credit, while the same image with 50 steps will cost 1.7 credits.

Therefore, it is strongly recommended to keep the steps at 30 or less for the best results and cost efficiency.

With this new approach, all you have to do is state the facts and let ChatGPT transform them into a coherent text. It is not perfect, but it saves a LOT of time, at least for me.

I tried to generate meta titles and descriptions based on the article text, but it wasn't working as well (or my prompt wasn't good enough), so I ended up just writing them by hand.

Thanks to ChatGPT I was able to write and release the guide in just 3 days (half of that I spent building the frontend). If this is possible now, imagine what crazy new tech we'll have in the future!

It's my first time doing content marketing, so it's really exciting to see how it turns out! I'll be happy to hear your feedback.

One last use-case I found was to generate awesome prompts for Stable Diffusion based on a short idea, for example:

Portal to another dimension, insane, psychedelic
V

cinematic view of a person entering a portal to another dimension,
mind-blowing, psychedelic, detailed, vibrant colors, glowing,
digital painting, artstation, concept art, sharp focus, illustration,
art by jordan grimmer and greg rutkowski and tim hildebrandt
and boris vallejo.

And here's the result:
Portal to another dimension, insane, psychedelic
Awesome, isn't it? The full article is here: https://dreamlike.art/guides/using-openai-chat-gpt-to-write-stable-diffusion-prompts
