How I wrote K-Stash from scratch in 1 week
I know this may sound bait, but trust me, it isn't.
2 weeks ago I had this idea, as usually happens to me, randomly:
A place where developers, programmers or hardcore web researchers could stash the resources found on the web and retrieve them, easily.
This might sound nonsense, but ask this question to a full stack developer: how many bookmarks do you have in your chrome bar? Trust me, countless.
The funny thing is that he won't never remember in which of the hundreds folder he saved that "stackoverflow awesome spinner css" post comment.
Here is where K-Stash comes in, and I got super excited at the sole thought... why? Because I'd be the first one to use it (I am actually lol).
Apart from this intro, I started working on Aug 17, completely from scratch.
Of course this hasn't been my first project, but it has been the very first time I have used ClickUp to handle all the work. Period. I mean it, the post could end up right here.
Its key features I found really useful to have a perfect scheduling and mental organization are:
- Deadlines (you get anxious, so you work)
- Priorities (you add some more anxiety, so you'll be more prone to work)
- Subtasks
Then it's just a matter of getting used, open it in the morning and see what's next to do!
Of course, the most important things, imho:
- Motivation
- Hard work
- Be Strict
- Have a method
- Habits
For the ones who care, these are the main tasks I have done in this endless week:
- Server setup
- Database setup
- Design system architecture
- frontend (about 20 pages/partials).. most boring part imho
- backend (about 15 controllers)
- paypal integration... what a pain in the ass
- business aspects
- indexing/seo stuff
Note:
I am a developer, so you might think "ok, you perfectly knew what to do, easy peasy lemon squeezy".. well, not exactly. I wrote K-Stash to improve my skills and learn new things too, in fact I decided to try a web framework I didn't know about. This is why I am even more satisfied of this process :)
