How i'm trying to save my sanity with tool i've built over two weeks period

hi all

i work in a remote team as a software engineer and it's all fine but manager from a different team (or tribe or whatever it's called, i know) just won't stop harassing my teammates about the progress of the features. like even if they post progress in a different channel, they would still be asked for a "proper" status update in an "official" channel

since i cannot change the management, i still wanted to do something about it (and build some product along the way because i love doing that)

over the past few weeks i've been building this tool that connects to your slack, goes through your messages and generates a summary of what you did in a day. so hopefully it will help my teammates having to remember about scattered messages and manually compiling a status based on them

and it could (maybe) help you too, especially if you sometimes feel like you just don't remember what you did and want someone to take care of the status part (i've been feeling like that lately)

this tool is called https://dailystatus.ai and it's currently free while in beta. i'm aiming to spend a bit more time there, adding more features like generating statuses based on github activity (and other integrations) or adding manual statuses if you feel like it. kinda similar to status hero. or what status hero was back in the day

while testing it day-to-day now i can see the value it provides, even though it's obviously not perfect. but it kinda gives me hope in fixing this strange situation with the manager. yeah yeah, talk to upper management about it but still i feel like this space of giving transparent progress is not really that explored

kinda related to this: has anyone went back to meetings after using status hero or another async status tool? generating status or writing it manually in an async way is great but meeting your teammates is great too. not sure how to make them both work
