How long before launching the web app should the coming soon page be up?

Hi All,
I am in the process of building a simple web app (my first time as an indie hacker). I would like to know, how long before I launch my app should the "coming soon" page be up. Basically I want to understand how much time should I take to build and launch the first version once the "coming soon" page is up in the wild.

I published the coming soon page as soon as I launched into closed beta. What are you planning to put on the coming soon page? I had a signup for to my email newsletter there to be able to notify people as soon as it launches.

  Thanks for the reply. Similar to yours, I am planning to have a sign up page so I can notify once the app is live.
