How many Git commits you've got in the last year for your side projects?
I've got 3.8k of contributions. I use Github for my side projects. About 99,9% of my commits are in private repositories, where I store my secret, side-projects code.
I am curious is almost 4000 commits a lot? I like to keep them simple, mostly with a single responsibility principle in mind. How about you?
In my opinion, the number of commits is unimportant. It matters what's in them.

I can't quite remember, but it is somewhere between 3 and 4,534,211.
But really, as others have pointed out, it is about as meaningful as "lines of code" for a project.
It's a bit like saying "The best IndieHackers post the most often on this site". It is not the quantity, but the quality in each where the value lies.
10.5 commits a day on average, every day. sounds like a lot. I'd take a guess and say it's roughly 20 commits a day bi-daily...
I don't code as much but I try to commit only big enough changes.
It depends, for Ginevar I have around 50, but what 's important is the content. Quality over quantity here
I got 1.2k across several projects. I work on this in my spare time though.
