How many of us work a primary job?

I got inspired by the poll “has anyone worked exclusively for themselves and never for someone else.” While this is very rare, it made me curious to know how many as of right now work only for themselves and lives off their projects.
It would also be interesting if you post your project/projects if you do not have a primary job.

It's really difficult to work on your projects, specially after certain age, without having a stable job.
What do you consider a "primary job"?

Yes this poll left out the freelancers. Not sure how to respond. Fellow freelancer here.
I would say any job that is your primary income generated from the amount of hours you invest. So if you indiehacking generates more income then your freelancing job, I would say that is your primary income.
Alright, maybe a better question then is:
How do you get financial stability?
For myself: I'm fully dependent of freelancing (unfortunately).
What kind of freelancing? Developing software for clients or anything else?

Same here tho, but i got a 9-5 job 5 days a week.

I used to work for big tech company but had to leave to work on my own projects due to no moonlighting clause plus I was working 60+ hrs and had no time for my own projects. Issue now is even though I have planned and saved I still feel uneasy burning cash. I think the ideal arrangement for me would be a part time or consulting gig 15hrs or so per week. Difficult part is trying to find consulting opportunities that pay well, my experience with Upwork wasn't good.
It's frustrating as I know of friends who openly tell me they work no more than 10hrs /wk in their full time tech jobs and noone notices but for me I would feel too guilty in this situation and anxious that I wasn't doing enough to simply pivot to working on my own personal stuff. Foolish I know!
