How many side projects are you working on at same time?
Pretty often I tend to get distracted and go after a shiny new project, ignoring current projects. Its realy hard for me to focus on one particular idea.
Currently I am working on multiple side projects:
- Web utility
- Tourism related portal
- Entertainment portal
- Photo apps
How many are you working on currently?
I am working just on one side project, roombuddy.co. I think you have a clearer mind when you work on just one project.
I have three going right now but really need to be focusing all my side project time on one of them.
The last one is the one I think has the biggest upside and is still earliest. I need to focus more time there.

Been feeling overwhelmed recently since I also decided recently to start writing more and documenting process. I think it's overloading when all the future possibilities + all the work that needs to be done lands in your brain simultaneously. I find it helpful to acknowledge that it progresses one step at a time. Might also be helpful if your projects feed into one another somehow, that way it becomes possible to see yourself as working on a singular holistic objective regardless of 'how many projects' there are.
I agree with the projects feed into one another, I am focussing on same sign-up userbase for both the tourism and the entertainment projects (single userbase).
I'm building a handful, one-at-a-time, while they all fall under the same umbrella and website.
I try to live by the mantra of full-assing one thing rather than half-assing many, or as my grandmother loves to say; if you don't have time to do something properly, you must have time to do it again. So, 1 side project.
Love the term full-assing! Respect for this focus and going deep into one thing. Nice to have a core that can be complemented by the less prominent things.

I am focusing on one right now, two in maintenance mode for now. 2021 going to focus on marketing.
I'm working on 2 projects at the same time. I've started my main project Stackprint about a year ago and the other one a few weeks back so they're in very different stages which makes working on each very different.
While the main challenge with Stackprint right now is to increase traffic and improve conversion rates, the other project is a lot of early-stage dev work. I gotta say it's really fun to have a very varied set of tasks throughout the week.
3 currently! I run (1) Comma along with 2 friends to build an online community around digital minimalism, (2) my podcast PyJamas Pillow Talk, which doesn't take up that much time, and (3) my newly launched Substack Penniless to Plentiful All Access Pass, which will document behind the scenes of building businesses.
I don't think having multiple side projects necessarily indicates half-assing something- I see it as having your investments in multiple baskets and diversifying your portfolio. But then again, I just graduated from college, which is why I may be more free now.
Just curious, do you allocate time evenly to all the three? And how are they spread, is it one project per week or per day?
Ideally I'll say something like a 70/20/10 split! I think the best way to think about it is that you want to have a big project that will offer the highest expected value, with one/two other smaller side projects that offer upside as well but may need less time. I find that generally creating media (written/audio interviews) takes less time as compared to programming an app etc. So you may want to take up a project that uses code as a leverage, and another smaller side project that uses media as a leverage.

I am working with a friend in 2 side projects:
1- Jokes app with 10K users and growing, trying to get more users from USA
2- Twitter TTS app ending MVP and trying to reach USA market
90% of the work now is on the second side project but we can change depending on the priorities we give every month.

It helps to have a friend with the side projects. For solo person, it might be tough.
Working on 2 sadly. I know it means I am slower on both but one needs a lot of processing time.
Do you give 50% time for each? How has it been going so far trying to balance between both?
