How much do you earn on your blogs?
Just some simple questions that others might be curious on -
What are some creative ways of monetizing a blog?
Is it true that AdSense generates little profit, and that most profit from blogs come from sponsorships?
And the most important question I have -
How much do you earn on your blogs? :)
Reason I'm asking -
Writing and creating content is hard. The general theme on monetizing content is through video & posts - Youtube/Tiktok/Instagram. Is there still room for blogs?
In 2006 I started a blog about affiliate marketing in the Netherlands. I wrote about the industry and important news for affiliates, networks and advertisers..The way this earned me money was mostly by charging for sponsored posts from companies that wanted to advertise their services or job openings.
After I gathered a large enough group of readers this opened opportunities by itself. I became a co-owner of a company that organised a yearly conference about affiliate marketing. And other opportunities presented itself as advertisers knew I was knowledgeable and could help them sell more online.
I didn’t start this blog with the idea of earning money with it, but in the end by starting this blog I made at least a few hundred thousand euro in a few years time from these opportunities.
As my personal interest moved on with new projects I sold the blog itself for ~22.000 euro in 2010.
So to answer your question: yes - money can be made with blogs.

I started blogging for a while, not for the purpose of making money but just because...
I have noticed that there will be 5% of the articles that will bring you 80% of traffic. The trick is to double down on them.
Creating content is hard, very hard. This is why consistency is the most valuable asset here. Once you figure that out and find out which pages are bringing the most traffic you can try looking into monetizing based on those posts.
And most importantly you probably won't get any money out of it for at least 6 months.

By "double down" - what do you mean? You promote and advertise the blogpost more?
By "monetizing" - what do you mean? Ads? Sponsored posts?
Double down:
Create similar posts to the ones which blew up. Tag them in various other places like feature them on the homepage. And find the category around that post and write more in that category. Link all those pages together.
Monetizing:
This can be done in various forms. What I did was I promoted my SaaS product at the end of the blog post, so those readers who were interested would try out the app.
Got it, never thought of creating similar posts. So your form of monetization is free promotion for your product.
