How much do you pay for hosting? What hosting services do you use? How to optimize?

Hey guys,

I'm building a single page application that displays a lot of images and videos. Based on the Network tap of the chrome developer tools, an average session is around 5 MB transferred and another 15 MB of resources.

Until now I have used services like Firebase Hosting and Firebase Storage for hosting wich charges $0.12/GB downloaded but I assume this will add up to quite a lot in production and I'm looking for ways to reduce this cost.

Are there any hosting options that do not charge for transferred bandwidth?

How do you keep hosting costs low and what services do you use? What steps do you take to optimize costs or is this not a main concern for you?
