How much does an app like Uber cost to build? Ask EstimatePRD (coming soon).

Hey friends,

The PRDs are great for outlining product ideas, but the challenge is to estimate the effort to ensure the budget and timeline meet the product goals. Hand-made analysis and estimates may take weeks to process before there are any numbers or 'looks and feels.'

I work for a software outsourcing company, and project estimates are our daily activity. Customers want to see how much it is going to take to build what they have in mind.

To help customers uncover their project plans and estimates early on, I built a gpt-based tool that does just that. Now, the EstimatePRD is in my work toolset, and I often use it to get a quick outline of the software project estimates.

EstimatePRD is a fast way to check if the PRD makes sense and get an actionable plan. And yes, it also works with inputs like "How much does an app like Uber cost to build?"

How you are training the model? Isn't it higly dependent on the quality of PRD?

It is. The tool helps to define PRD details and makes assumptions of missing parts or if you ask it to estimate the app like uber. But the tool is good for estimating MVPs mainly, so if you feed it with high-quality PRD, it might not be able to get to the depth of complex software projects. At least this version.

The model is trained on hand-made estimates over the last five years.
