How much you spend before your MVP was ready?
I know it's not one size fits all. Can you share how much you spent before your MVP was ready to market?
Just money spent from your pocket. Don't include your time/effort in the equation :)
Ex: Hosting, Designing, Hiring Freelancer, Domain purchase, etc.
I'll start with mine... $7,000
Assuming you don’t have a business already setup, you have to count it as @IndieHacker69420 said. Mine was a $399 one time fee using firstbasr.
Building the MVP costs $0 and under a week. I usually create a Figma animated UI to validate my ideas. People find it weird, but it works well for some use cases.
Hosting is also $0 if I have to code the MVP, most of the time, I use vercel’s hobby plan, and I code it myself.
Planning an MVP budget can be tough. And we all know that finances can get out of hand if you don’t mind the MVP expenses.
The thing is that MVP projects are very versatile. You can start with several hundred dollars. But the more important question is how much you will spend in the end when the product is launched. So many things influence the overall price - what you’re building, who you hire, tight deadlines (more on that here, by the way, https://www.upsilonit.com/blog/how-much-does-it-cost-to-build-an-mvp).
Based on Upsilon’s experience, a very simple MVP can total up to about 10k. And there’s no top margin to how high it can go. I mean, you may come across a startup price of over 80k and think that that’s so much, but if you start digging into what made for this total, it’ll turn out that this price is more than reasonable for the achieved end result.
About $1,500. Mainly the business incorporation ($500) and services (hosting, theme, domain etc..)
It cost us around ~ $250 (domain, logo and design work).
The rest was the time spent.
