How my app went viral with a tweet that got 118k+ hits in 24 hours
Hey everyone. I recently built ChatCSV - a personal data analyst which lets you ask your CSVs any question. It helps you quickly visualise scatter plots, pie charts, bar charts and more from natural queries.
Yesterday I tweeted about the app, and it rose to more than 118k+ views in less than 24h!
Here are some of the reasons why it blew up:
- It features a nice story: "Couldn't get access to OpenAI Code interpreter, so built it."
- It's riding the AI Hype Train
- It features multiple use-case videos (each less than 20s), nicely presented
- LangChain initially re-tweeted it, giving it a boost in reach
From these attributes, it made it to the Twitter For You page. And is still growing now!

I wonder if you have to be somebody for a chat to go viral. I don't really use public (doxable) social media much.
Or can you do it as a stranger (few tweets/followers) and use hashtags.
It's definitely possible with little followers. You just need a good story hook and a re-tweet from a large account to give you that jump. Then it's just a case of making it to the For You page given them attributes
