A big challenge for anyone creating a new product is balancing your communications between helpful and annoying.
While you have news and updates you want to share, plus probing for engagement, retention, and feedback, you never want to push users away because you are blowing up their inbox/notifications.
At Phlywheel, we send newsletters on a weekly basis, but I have reservations that it may become stale and too routine.
If you have a newsletter, how often are you sending it? Any ideas for breathing some new life into the 'weekly routine'?
Hey Max,
how often you should send your newsletter depends on one thing only: how often do you have something interesting to say?
Send your newsletter no less, no more :)
I send buildfaster.co's every week so I have enough time to gather good content, new HTML themes for sale, and deals.
Would you recommend this for someone looking to get better at building via HTML? I've realized it's a pretty important thing to know, this may be a good way to practice.
Yeah for sure. The HTML and CSS code is very easy to understand. I use comments to organize the code making it easy to follow.
Thanks for the tip!
You're welcome! Are you interested in a theme for a current/future project?
Not really sure right now, just feeling like a revamp is in order. Need to build up my bank of personal content to publish first.
Ok got it! Let me know when you may be ready :)
Will do 🙂
👍
Hey @Maxsper Same feeling!
It's not easy to find a balance, I've been running Virtual Mojito newsletter for a while, I deliver content every 2 weeks. The response is good so far. Keen to hear your opinion tho.
I send out my newsletter weekly. It's the best tradeoff between the content I can put together, my production schedule, and the perceived preferences of my readers.
I couldn't send it a few times per week or more as It'd take too much time and I wouldn't have enough content. As a reader, I find daily newsletters overwhelming and don't subscribe to them, so I assume most of my readers feel the same.
i would say as often as your audience wants it!

This is so true. I have a limited time for reading, so the moment a newsletter sends two useless issues in a row, I'm outta there. I'm always looking to get at least one useful thing from each issue.
Agreed! I try to put a lot of time into personal projects and post them only once I think they are perfect. I found out the hard way that you can 't just be throwing anything out there.
