How project called SantaMail managed to get so many sales
I was reading this article https://inc42.com/buzz/7-ridiculous-ideas-that-made-millions/ and I saw this:

Then I started thinking. If you are a parent you can take 20-30 minutes of your time per year to write a letter, put it in an envelope and in your mailbox for your kids to find it tomorrow.
Why pay any amount of money to someone to mail it to you?
The idea is amazing! People have way too much money, but the effect is huge. Getting post from the north pole! How cool is that.
But why? Parents don't care about fake north pole letter, they are doing it for their kids. They can just buy post card or make that letter by themselves for free
Just check out the website. They are doing cool things! You can even add an official declaration of good behavior for 9,95. Real money-making machine.
That takes time, lower middle class and up are likely willing to pay $10
Edit: obviously not all people in these classes, just the subset that this sounds cool to
Ok they are likely to pay, maybe, but still it's easy to do it yourself for free. I'm trying to understand the mindset of buying it when you can do it for free
because you would have to spend time to figure out the whole thing. What should the address say, how would it look like to your kids, what’s the font, the language etc. so your are paying to save your time and effort. And also to talk about it to your friends.
