How should I think about hosting for my podcast?

I've read the pros about owning your own url https://blog.pacific-content.com/who-owns-your-podcast-or-why-you-might-want-to-re-think-your-shows-rss-feed-b8be38fc69e0

I've also been recommended SimpleCast https://simplecast.com/features-pricing/

Assuming budget is not a factor (it is but not the most limiting one) what should I really prioritise when making my decision?

Thanks!

I use https://transistor.fm/ for hosting my podcast. The best part is that I can host multiple shows under the same account/price. Plans run per downloads (per episode). Super easy to publish and it comes with a website, which supports a custom domain as well.

Initially, I had toyed with the idea of creating/hosting it on my servers, but for $19/month ($190/year) it wouldn't justify the time it would take me to do that.

Here's my podcast's website hosted on Transistor https://bootstrapping-saas.transistor.fm/

@tilikang and I host on Transistor as well. Analytics are helpful. It's also really easy to publish.

We just launched https://audiostaq.com/ with tools for smaller shows. We have a sleek web player and great customer support. I'd love for you to check us out.
