How stealing an idea got me a better landing page

At the beginning of last September, I started working on shrt.cat: a service that would allow you to track how many of your Twitter followers are engaging with your links and content.

After some months, I was browsing through Indie Hackers when I saw this post. My first thoughts were "DARN IT, SOMEONE ALREADY STOLE MY IDEA". But after a while I realised that I wouldn't let this stop me from at least validating my project. Furthermore, it would even help me to come up with a way better landing page.

And that's what I did. What are your thoughts?
