How the SpaceX Launch Stole Online Traffic

You might have heard about Elon Musk’s aspirations to reduce the cost of space transportation. Well, SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies) is the embodiment of that idea. Since its creation in 2002, the company has been continuously improving spatial technology, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in terms of space travel. Its latest shuttle launch on May 30th created quite the buzz online, outshining the Black Lives Matter protests and pandemic news for a brief moment.

The traffic dropped by 9.8% during the launch (for an entire 20 minutes) and by 20% during the 10-minute docking to the space station. Besides these unprecedented statistics, the launch also made history as it was the first successful mission to have humans aboard.
