Is it a good idea to start a YouTube channel to grow your startup?
Imagine beating SEO experts and landing on Google's first page.
This is what Evaboot achieved with the help of YouTube.
Evaboot is a LinkedIn lead extraction tool, created by JB Jezequel and Robin Z.
In just two years, they’ve hit $2 million in annual revenue.
JB mentioned their YouTube channel had a significant impact, bringing in 20-30% of their signups. That translates to around $38k MRR!
So how do they do it?
They take advantage of the growing prevalence of YouTube videos in Google results.
For example, one of their videos is on the first page of the search “How to get emails from LinkedIn.” Not too bad for a key term with an SEO Difficulty of 52/100. And the most impressive thing is that they uploaded this video last month and it only has 385 views. This shows you don't need to become viral on YouTube to see gains from this channel.
They also use their YouTube videos to give an additional boost to their articles.
For example in this long-form article, "How To Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator To Generate Leads?" they embed separate video explainers for each section, like how to use advanced search filters. And they give their articles an additional boost by pinning the article link in the top comment on the video.
The best thing about all this is that JB doesn't seem to be using expensive gear. It's usually just him explaining how to do something or walking through his tool.
