I want to be involved with startups. Working with cool, inspired founders and teams trying to craft amazing world changing products. It excites me more than anything I have thought of doing for a career before, and I'd be stupid not to think about how to explore it, even if in tandem with my regular cushy corporate job.
But how can I get from where I am, to where I want to be?
I have an extremely powerful diverse skill set and range of experiences. A true generalist in all things startup like methodology, tech, design, experiment and strategy. So I think I'll be able to provide value of some sort, I just don't know where to start.
As founders, devs and startups on indiehackers - do you have any advice for me? Have you worked with mentors or advisors in your startup journey and what were they like?
Hi Jata! I think you have a few options here:
π you can look for a position in the early stage start-up (probably the best way to start)
π reach out to some incubators, accelerators, or founder programs and ask if they are looking for mentors
π depending on your skill set, you could also start freelancing but focus on working only with start-ups
π build your own venture or join as a co-founder (depending on the workload, you could do it on the side of your full-time job)
Best of luck! π
