How to botch a Product Hunt launch...

So, today I launched Datacareers.io to very little fanfare on Product Hunt. Evidence can be found here, https://www.producthunt.com/posts/datacareers-io.

Now, what went wrong?

• Setting the launch time to 12:00pm instead of 12:00am? Maybe! I noticed at about 5 am Atlantic time that the launch didn't occur but was too tired to dig into it. Eventually, I hit "launch now" at about 6:30 am Atlantic or 2:30 am PST. My wife told me to wait but I thought it would be ok. In hindsight, I realized exactly why you need to launch exactly at 12:00am. Since the Product Hunt homepage sorts products by upvote count, you are immediately at a disadvantage if you enter the field late. Did this really affect my launch? Not entirely sure, but I will not make that mistake next time.
• Did I choose the wrong venue to launch my product? Maybe! I knew it was a bit of a stretch to launch a Data Science product on Product Hunt but the tech community and data science community are quite entwined, so I thought this would be ok. Maybe not?
• Does my product suck? Maybe! I still really feel datacareers.io is something really unique and the career platform space for a niche field like data science is basically untouched.

I'm sure in the days to follow I will come up with plenty of things I could have done differently but it's in the past now. I still believe in my offering and will keep growing it until it pops off!

I would love to hear anyone's opinion or similar stories! I sat around for most of the day waiting on my product hunt page to answer questions or receive input that never came, so any input is appreciated!
